Project 52 | Week 22: Junk-Recycle

Hello dear followers! Project 52 is here and I’m excited to see what everyone has posted this week. I’m definitely not a person who collects junk,  in fact, last week we did a major clean up in the house and everything that we didn’t want we gave away. BUT, Luna wasn’t born with her mom’s identical particularities. In fact, if by mistake (not really) I throw any of her little cut up paper in the trash, she will manage to find it out and start crying about why did I put her special “bla, bla, bla” in the trash can!  During all this year, she collected folders from preschool. Every week she brought home a folder full of papers and collages she did during the week. In the beginning, I tried to convince her to recycle the folders, but she was very positive she wanted to save them. We decided to have  a box in her room to keep them organized for the entire school year! Last week we had a talk, and we both agreed that she needs to clean up for  kindergarten, and that we would recycle all of her folders to get ready for next year.  I said she could keep couple of her favorites work and we would hang them up somewhere in her room. I guess this is the only junk we actually have in the house at the moment. And it was a good opportunity to go over all her   projects I never really looked. There are some very interesting things there….I love them! But seriously, I’m not attached to things at all, so they will go soon to the recycle!

Below, goes couple of images of what I’m dealing with.

And by the way, when I start thinking about the theme for this week, came to my mind the amazing work of Vik Muniz. He is a brazilian artist who photographs his creations made of sorts of  things. He has a special series of images made of junk/garbage, and I thought that if for some reason you don’t know him, that would be a good opportunity to share his work.  If you know about his art and have seen the movie Waste Land (available on Netflix instant queue) you probably admire him as much as I do. If you don’t know him, below there is a trailer of his must watch documentary.
