I heart faces: I Heart My Country

This week theme @ iheartfaces is I Heart My Country! What a great theme to share my story and share with those who don’t know me a little about my country. I was born and raised in Brazil and came to the US in 2001. Arrived in the Bay Area and fell in love with everything about this country. After 9.5 years, I got married (still with a brazilian guy), had our adorable daughter (you’ll meet her on most of my pictures) and decided to be in the US for good. We are so blessed to live here, work and raise our girl in a great weather, beautiful and safe area (we are still a little worried with earthquakes though!).

The picture above is one of the first pictures I took, back in 2003 when I decided to study photography. It is a scan of a black and white Fuji ISO 100 negative film I took with my first 35mm Nikon. This is for sure an important picture because besides being “The Golden Gate Bridge” it is my picture and it reminds me how everything started.

But I’m here to talk about something else I guess: The love I have for my country and that love belongs to Brazil! Yeah….Even though I have my life here, my heart is still green and yellow! My lovely country, my always home country. Great people, great food, great beaches and great soccer (what happen to the World Cup Brazil?). I wish I had some recent pictures to share…..of my beautiful country!

I still love to live here in Northern California, close to the beautiful San Francisco, where is never too hot and never too cold….nice friends we have made here and we call here home for now.

Thanks for reading!

Patricia
